Some rare tracks on this compilation that still make it one of my favourite to date. Particularly great for the inclusion of legendary producer John Schroeder and his version of "Money Runner". A Quincy Jones classic. Generally a superb album, mainly for the consistent high standard of choice. Very funky, incredibly groovy, and at times, handing over some quirky library tunes. "Ape Shuffle" also worth a mention.
A unique collection of some of the rarest Texas funk with detailed liner notes to hand over a very considerate and thoughtful compilation, certainly one of the best at present. I seem to spend a lot of time to buying and searching for good funk records and I know where my influences have come from but I shall not hail, only learn. Learn and respect. One thing I was quick to learn was that I'm going to need, a lot of money but thanks to albums like this, those rare funk gems are available at a non collectors rate. If you want to learn something on funk this musical Bible and it's 21 commandments will set a new standard for funky living and you will not look back to a conversion of the everyday blaaghh blaaghh. The past is the future.
