Jimi Tenor
Kitty-Yo Records
This guy just keeps the albums coming, you'd think the quality would decrease but it's still Tenor madness blended with smoothness. I can?t get into everything he puts out, with a little too much Electronica, but the jazz influence is supreme. He really knows how to amalgamate styles and I guess its what rounds a Jimi Tenor album up. The man is an incredible musician and is certainly exploring, maybe even pioneering with his music. One twelve inch I found by City of Women, another of Mr Tenors projects or works, which incorporates a mechanical drum machine (Robot) named Sirkka and other various techy instruments which just add to the madness and enthusiasm of Tenor and those that surround him. There are always strange noises made by obscure instruments and when you listen to any of his albums, experimentation is high on the list of appreciation. Don't let me fool you into thinking its all crazy though, there are many well considered and thoughtfully produced tracks to suit your moods or smoke your pipe, whichever.

Milestone album that put Kruder and Dorfmeister on the map. Some of the most creative re-mixes ever with a use of samples which maintain their originality. If you don't own this then you have to ask yourself ..... why?

Lalo Schifrin
Warner
Soundtrack to the acclaimed and classic 'Bullit' starring Steve Mcqueen. Schifrin's diversity for film scores never ceases to amaze me. I think here he has really captured a feel for the streets of San Fransisco and the chase scenes within them.
