Quincy Jones
A & M
Flawless production and that smooth Q sound. In some cornersb this is described as Quincy Jones' finest.
A mish mash of styles, accessible and interesting, a real Jazz cat in action. The band guarantee the smooth drum and basslines whilst the Bossa Style gets impregnated with Mingus and Lerner and Loewe.
Roy Ayers is one of the pioneers of Jazz Funk and damn this album really shows us why. The first track 'Boogie Down' hits you and then 'bang' the rest of the album follows up. A real must own.
